Teeth in a Day
Simi Valley, CA

When you lose your teeth, several things occur. Your abilities to bite and chew, and therefore your digestion and overall nutrition, are impacted. Your speech suffers. The quality of your smile suffers. Any healthy teeth begin to shift out of alignment as your jawbone begins to grow weak. Dental implants are a modern treatment for tooth replacement, providing an alternative to traditional treatments. They have quickly become a popular option, providing numerous benefits over bridges and dentures. However, it can take several months before you receive your permanent restorations. At Westlake Oral and Plastic Surgery at Simi Valley, we can eliminate the wait with Teeth in a Day.

Dental Implants for Tooth Loss

Dental implants are an option for replacing missing a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth. While dental implants have a lengthy history, the implants that we use today are a fairly recent development that provides you with a revolutionary alternative to bridges and dentures. This unique treatment uses small posts, usually made from titanium, which are surgically placed into your jawbone. The bone fuses to the posts, integrating them into the jaw and turning them into stable, secure roots that provide support for your replacement teeth.

Getting Your Teeth in One Day

Dental implants require a surgical procedure. Incisions are made in the gums and holes are drilled into the jawbone. The posts are then placed into the bone, and the gums are stitched closed around them. Typically, this is the point at which temporary teeth are set into place, restoring some of the functions of your mouth while you heal. Healing can take several weeks to several months, depending upon the number of posts placed and other factors. During this time, you have several follow up appointments to ensure that the posts are integrating properly into the jaw. It is not until you have fully healed from surgery that the process for creating your final restorations begins. This process then takes two additional visits. At the first visit, impressions of your mouth are taken after the temporary teeth are removed. At the second appointment, often two weeks later, the final restorations are checked for fit and screwed into place if no adjustments are needed.

Teeth in a Day are different. With this treatment, you are provided with your final restorations immediately following your implant surgery. Before surgery, digital impressions are taken of your mouth. These impressions are then used to design and fabricate your new teeth. When you arrive for your implant surgery, your final restorations are waiting for you. As soon as the implant posts are placed into the jaw, and the gums are sutured closed, the abutments are placed on the posts, and your new teeth are screwed permanently into place. You leave the office following your surgical procedure with your final, beautiful new teeth.
